My name is Michal
Levy, and I am a birth doula. I am certified with
DONA International
and
ICEC.
I am married to Ely
and have 3 children; Eran, Savion and Noga.
I became interested
in pregnancy in birth when I was pregnant myself, and knew I wanted to help women
give birth, but it wasn’t until after my second birth that I started studying to
become a doula.
At the same time,
I also started studying reflexology at the
Reidman College for Complementary Medicine.
Now I am specialized in treating pregnant women.
In addition, I also
have a second degree in Reiki.
I finished a course
for pregnancy massage, also at
Reidman College.
My philosophy
Pregnancy and birth are natural processes that are part of a woman’s life. Nonetheless,
pregnancy is a very special period which brings about a transition – the one that
leads to motherhood. My philosophy is that pregnancy and birth should be approached
as a normal part of life. A woman’s body is made for this process. Often, the medical
world takes away the confidence that women have in their own bodies.
My goal is to put that confidence back into women, to show them that their bodies
are very well able to deal with the task at hand, and to teach them tricks how to
enhance that ability.
I bring a calming and nurturing presence to the birth that is essential for having
a great birth experience.
Read birth stories from women who hired me as a doula.
